The Junior Curriculum

Campbelltown Performing Arts High School we offer a very flexible curriculum. In some subjects students will be placed with their age cohorts; whilst in others, particularly the elective areas, students may find themselves in multi-age groups or stages such as years 7-8, years 8-9 or years 9-10.

To satisfy the Board of Studies requirements for the NSW school certificate students must complete a specified number of units (or courses) in a variety of subject areas, some courses are specified as mandatory while others are elective. In Year 7 and 8 choices are limited to the mandatory unit and ensemble work.
Year 7 and 8 students have mandatory areas of study in the following courses – English, Maths and Science, History, Geography, Design and Technology, Food Technology, Textiles and Design, Dance, Drama, Circus, Visual Arts, Technics, Technical drawing and Human Movement etc.
Timetables are individually computer generated and students receive a copy each term, student curriculum patterns are carefully monitored by curriculum advisors.
